About SCORE of Franklin County For many decades SCORE of Franklin County has provided free business advice and counseling from our office at the Chamber of Commerce on Main Street in Greenfield, Massachusetts. If you’re in business or dreaming of starting one in Franklin County, then the counselors at SCORE can help you. They can provide a sounding board for your ideas, discuss your strategies, or help you untangle problems. Currently SCORE of Franklin County has approximately one dozen members with extensive backgrounds in business in New England. Many are former (or current) business owners with years of hands-on experience. It is this experience background that forms the foundation of their counseling discussions and recommendations. This distinguishes SCORE from other entities in the area that also provide business advice. Sessions are usually held on Wednesday afternoons, with six sessions normally scheduled every month. However, special sessions can be scheduled at other times or locations, depending on the clients’ needs. Normally two counselors are available for each meeting. The meetings generally last an hour, with follow-up meetings offered as needed. All meetings are cost-free to the client. In addition to general business experience SCORE members have specific expertise as listed on our Members' Page. Recently they also offer guidance in the newer field of web based (E-commerce) businesses and advertising (via web sites). Advice on business formats, business plans and cash flow issues is also provided. Folks currently in business, starting a business, or perhaps only pondering starting a business, should contact the Chamber of Commerce at 773-5463 to set up a meeting with the local branch of SCORE.
